A tee-shirt, jeans, and bootie is my go to outfit that I will wear on repeat ALL FALL LONG. I simply added a scarf and lipstick to make it look like I put some thought into it!  My jeans are high-waisted. Perfect for my mom tum and they are 96% lycra! SO comfy. These chelsea booties may look fancy, but they have a 1″inch heel and I wear them daily!

So, about my hangup I mentioned on the IG earlier today….For too long I have been letting social media intimidate me. I start to compare myself to others and then I become overwhelmed and unconfident. It literally took me 2 years to start this blog! I mean….thats crazy, right?  I have always struggled with comparing myself to others since I was a little girl. And I know without a doubt that I need to be content in my own skin, with my life and everything in it. For instance; I was absolutely not going to post this pic above. Like, no way! It shows my double chin. Am I that vain? Apparently. But then I started thinking and this picture is perfection. My friend Rachel captured the sweetest moment between Lilah and me! Her embrace, and the kiss on her cheek, it is all just perfect. And in my discovery of this perfect picture, I started to think about how I need to be confident in my own skin for my girls….or at least act the part. Because when my girls are older, I don’t want them to think they are less than perfect. I want them to know they are perfect in every way. After all, we are all fearfully and wonderfully made, are we not? We are all the way God made us, and that discovery in itself is something to be confident in!

(My Look – TOP + SHOES + JEANS + SCARF AND ITS on sale!!!)

So, I am trying really hard to not obsess over ALL the perfectly petite and gorgeous women with crazy flowing hair and tanned toned bodies on the IG. Because I don’t want my daughters to do this in the future. Consider this my declaration! I will love myself and all my quirks for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Love yourself today, be an example for those around you,

Nicole

  1. Great message!

It’s like you just said how I have felt about social media & blogging. I love to read and have so many thoughts I would like to share but I too have those self doubts. I am so very proud of you for taking the leap and being an inspiration to all.

  2. Aw, my Nicolette, as your Aunt Simone’ would have said…. When you’re good …. You’re very good indeed…I truly am proud of you… Speaking those words out loud …of accepting yourself just the way God made you … Is a strength of confidence in the goodness and blessings you have been given…Truly, you’ve blessed my heart❤️ Mom

  3. Beautifully said. If you only knew yourself how others see you! To me you are the gorgeous, stylish, smart, incredible wife and mom that intimidates me! You have so many wonderful attributes that you see in others! And its so wonderful to see all that talent showcased here on this blog – even if it feels fearful to you, to me it is wonderfully done!
